近期有幾篇醫學報導，由動物實驗、雄性禿或是女性掉髮，將可收的ＰＤＯ線放置入頭皮，可以達到刺激毛囊，再生新髮的效果。

推測原理是ＰＤＯ線進入頭皮真皮層，可以啟動物理性與化學性的效果，增加生長因子、血管新生，刺激毛囊幹細胞活躍。
